ABS Edging

ABS is the greener plastic edgebanding option, as it has several environmental benefits over its alternatives.

The most noticeable difference between ABS and PVC (the more traditional plastic edgebanding) is that it can be easily burnt and disposed of, as it doesn’t contain Chloride. It can be recycled with general waste or burnt in any incinerator or factory heater. ABS edging is also biodegradable.

Our ABS edgebanding is available in thicknesses of 0.45mm – 3mm thick and can be produced in widths from 14mm up to 700mm wide.

Small order quantities are available from stock and can be delivered via our quick delivery service.

ABS edgebanding has many of the same properties of PVC - it offers a strong robust way to seal board edges, it is very hard wearing, can absorb impacts and has a high scratch resistance. It is also UV light and chemical resistant.

None of our ABS edgebandings contain any plasticisers in the formulation and use modern printing techniques using VOC free UV paint technologies.

Our stock ABS edgebangings are produce in a range of surface embossings to match many of the board embossings on the market, and we can produce to match any other requirements.

Thin Edging Material

ABS thin material edgebanding is all materials that are 0.45mm -1.2mm thick.

At Warwick Edging we stock a wide range of colours and decors in 0.4mm, 0.8mm, and 1mm, and can produce other thickness where required.

Holding our thin material in bulk in the UK means it can quickly and easily be slit down to different widths to your requirements. The plain colours are held in bulk rolls 700mm wide and the woodgrains and other printed materials 275mm wide and these can be slit to any widths as required.

As well as having bulk material we also stock all our thin material range pre-slit - every decor in 22mm wide and many in 19mm, 28mm and 44mm to ensure we can still provide quick delivery for all the popular board sizes.

Thin material up to 110mm wide can be pre-glued in house at Warwick Edging. We recommend only using edging of 0.8mm thick and above.

Thick Edging Material

ABS thick material edgebanding is all materials that are 1.3mm -3mm thick.

Thick edgebanding is often used for furniture and edged products being used in schools, office, hospitals, shops fitting, restaurants, and hotels as it provides the answer to high wear environements. It also provides furniture with a more up market look and 2mm is very commonly used to in the kitchen and bedroom trade to produce slab doors.

At Warwick Edging we stock a wide range of colours and decors in 1.5mm, 2mm, and 3mm, and can produce other thickness where required.

We also stock some of our darker or strong grained 2mm or 3mm thick decors in throughgrain, which is when the graining runs all the way through the edging, so when trimmed really adds value to the look of the edge board. This can be produced in any decor, for samples or more information please contact us.

It is produced in one of two ways, either extruded at the desired width or produced in bulk and slit down at the mill. Both have their advantages, the extrusion allowing for smaller quantities of single widths production, and the bulk allowing for multi width production, a larger overall production, but can produce bespoke widths.

We stock all our thick material range in a variety of widths, every decor in 22mm wide and many in 19mm, 28mm and, 40mm and 44mm to ensure we can still provide quick delivery to all the popular board sizes.
