Warwick Edging stocks a wide range of melamine edgebandings that match up to many of the latest boards available on the market as well as the more traditional boards. Melamine is still important to the marketplace despite the modern trend to shift towards plastic edgebandings, as it is easy to dispose of and 100% recyclable. It can also easily be burned in any incinerator or factory heater with no need to separate from the board. It has many of the environmentally friendly benefits of ABS, most importantly that is biodegradable and is an economical solution.

All our melamine material is made of specialist papers that are impregnated with resins that are absorbed, printed and coated with environmentally friendly lacquers and, where required, different finishes applied. This process creates a high quality edging once the paper has hardened, with high resistance to scratches and impacts while retaining flexibility.


Our melamine material is produced in bulk and slit to the desired widths, giving us flexibility to meet your needs. All of our decors in our swatches are available off the shelf slit in 22mm, and many in other widths including 19mm, 28mm, 40mm. Other widths are available to order, either in one roll quantities or large runs. We also have access to our mills' express ranges that allows us to further increase our stocked board matches, and allows us quick and easy access to small quantities of different widths and decors.

As well as standard melamine material, soft forming melamine can be produced to order, which will edge a profiled edge or right angles without snapping.

One of melamine’s most notable characteristics is it is unaffected by heat, meaning heat can be applied to either the back or the front of the edging. So once pre-glued the edging can be applied as simply as with a hot iron over the top of the edging or with a hot air gun for the back of the edging, which no danger of affecting the edging or the print.

All our melamine edging can be supplied either unglued or pre-glued. We hold all our melamine unglued and selected decors already pre-glued to allow for quick deliveries where required. More unusual decors or widths are glued to order, usually the same day.
